Three excellent Group performances by Nathaniel progeny in one day

10/07/2018

It was an exciting Sunday for Newsells’ sire Nathaniel with three high-class Group performances by his progeny.

God Given was denied Gr.2 success by just an agonising short head in the bet365 Lancashire Oaks at Haydock.  This tough four-year-old Gr.3 winning filly led the field and was just headed in the final strides however she was coming back near the line and was unlucky to not gain victory for trainer Luca Cumani and owner St Albans Bloodstock Ltd.

Another daughter of Nathaniel and Gr.3 winner, Precious Ramotswe, finished third in the same race over 1m4f.  Trained by John Gosden for A E Oppenheimer she is likely to head for the Gr.2 Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood next.

Over in Germany the multiple Listed placed three-year-old filly Dina dead heated for second in the Gr.3 Mehl Mulhens Trophy over 1m3f at Hamburg for trainer Markus Klug and owner Gestut Rottgen.
