Two more first-crop winners for Without Parole this June

25/06/2024

Without Parole struck with his third first-crop winner today as Liberty Bird landed the EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Beverley for trainer Charlie Johnston and owners Kingsley Park 38.

The two-year-old filly appreciated the step up in trip and faster ground to win this seven and a half furlong race, despite not breaking that well. She looks an exciting prospect to follow for the rest of the season.

Bred by Newsells Park Stud, Liberty Bird’s dam is the German Stakes winning Skrei (Approve), from the family of the Champion two-year-old filly and Gr.1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Lumiere and Gr.1 EP Taylor Stakes winner Sheikha Reika.

Other first-crop winners sired by Without Parole this June include Fiery Lucy, who justified favouritism with a comfortable victory in the Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden at Fairyhouse in Ireland. Trained by Gavin Cromwell for the Dunphy Family Syndicate she was noticeably strong inside the final furlong and could find further improvement over seven furlongs. This was her second race having finished second on her debut run over five furlongs at Cork in May.

Bred by Whatton Manor Stud, Fiery Lucy is a half-sister to Stakes winner Mukaddamah out of the Dubawi mare Craighall, a half-sister to Gr.2 winner Connecticut and Stakes performers Able Knight and Fleurie Domaine. She sold to Kevin Ross Bloodstock/Gavin Cromwell for 38,000gns at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales.

In May, Without Parole enjoyed his first winner with the highly rated Mr Chaplin landing a competitive maiden at Newbury for trainer Ralph Beckett and owners Michael Rembaum & Tanya Rembaum.

The fastest son of Frankel, Without Parole, won the prestigious Gr.1 St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. His first two-year-olds are running in 2024.
