A good day for Newsells three-year-olds in various Stakes races

26/05/2018

Three-year-olds bred and/or raised by Newsells Park Stud enjoyed plenty of Stakes success yesterday.

In France Al Malhouf won the Listed Coupe des Trois Ans over 2400m at Lyon Parilly by a comfortable three lengths. This exciting colt has now won two races and been second twice from just four starts for trainer Fabrice Chappet and owner Sheila bin Khalifa Al Kuwari.

By Dutch Art, the colt is out of the Stakes winning dam Lady Eclair (Danehill Dancer), whose dam Bex produced a further five Stakes horses.  Al Malhour was bred and sold by Newsells Park Stud at the Arqana August Yearling Sale to Chantilly Bloodstock Agency for €70,000. Lady Eclair also has a two-year-old filly by Australia and a yearling colt by Gleneagles.

Meanwhile in the UK, Main Street ran a cracking race to finish second in the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood for trainer John Gosden.  Owned and bred by Newsells Park Stud, the three-year-old colt is by Street Cry out of the Gr.2 winner My Special J’s (Harlan’s Holiday), who has a two-year-old filly by Mastercraftsman and a yearling colt by Frankel.

Also, the Newsells raised Without Parole maintained his unbeaten run to win the Listed Heron Stakes at Sandown and secure his place in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot for trainer John Gosden.  This son of Frankel is owned and bred by John and Tanya Gunther, and is a half-brother to Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup winner Tamarkuz out of Withoutyoubabe (Lemon Drop Kid).
