July saw yet another new Stakes winner for Nathaniel with Zeeyara landing the Listed Prix Madame Jean Couturie at Vichy today.
The three-year-old filly was making her debut at Stakes level having won over the the same trip of 1m2f at Chantilly in April, for trainer Francis-Henri Graffard and owner Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum.
Having settled in the rear of the field she made rapid progress turning for home and stayed on well to win by a neck from Wild Pansy and Chelsea Green.
Zeeyara is bred by Shadwell Estate Co and is a half-sister to recent Gr.3 winner Admiral De Vega. She is out of the Dansili mare Ashaaqah, a daughter of the Listed winner Kareemah who is a half-sister to dual US Gr.1 winner and Champion Lahudood, grandam of the six-time Gr.1 winner Baaeed and Gr.1 Coronation Cup victor Hokum.
