Dakota Gold continued his winning streak this year for his sire Equiano with a fifth win from his last six starts and his second Stakes success in landing the Listed UK Hi-Fi Show Live Rous Stakes at Ascot today.
He has now amassed over £280,000 in prize money for his owners Doug Graham and Ian Davison, and trainer Michael Dods.
Today Dakota Gold made all showing a high cruising speed and a game attitude to win the race by one and a half lengths.
Trainer Micheal Dods said: “The soft going, five furlongs and the stiff track suited him. He was always in control and showed his guts by outbattling them when they came to him. We will either finish him for the season or we will have a look at the weights in the Wentworth Stakes at Doncaster next month. If that is it for the year, we’ve got a lot to look forward to next season.”
