More black-type success for Without Parole’s Fiery Lucy

30/09/2024

Fiery Lucy, the two-year-old filly from the first-crop of Without Parole, ran another cracking race finishing fast to come second in the Gr.3 Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh yesterday.

Despite not getting the run of things Fiery Lucy came close to the highly regarded Coolmore filly Heavens Gate just being beaten by a neck.

It was the second black-type performance by this filly trained by Gavin Cromwell for owners Lindsay Laroche/Dunphy Family Syndicate, having also finished second in the Gr.3 Newtownanner Irish EBF Stakes at the Curragh last month.

Fiery Lucy is proving to be a tough and consistent filly for her connections, having ran six times, winning once and being placed four times with two being in Group races, and amassing over £85,000 in prize money.

Bred by Whatton Manor Stud, Fiery Lucy is a half-sister to Stakes winner Mukaddamah out of the Dubawi mare Craighall, a half-sister to Gr.2 winner Connecticut and Stakes performers Able Knight and Fleurie Domaine. She sold to Kevin Ross Bloodstock/Gavin Cromwell for 38,000gns at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales last year.

A son of Frankel and winner of the prestigious Gr.1 St James’s Palace Stakes, Without Parole is looking to be an exciting young sire with eight winners from his first-crop so far.
