Stakes winning double for Nathaniel

20/05/2018

Hot on the heels of Sladina’s emphatic victory on Saturday in the Listed Premio Mario Incisa, a trial for the Italian Oaks, Chasedown won the Gr.3 Premio Carlo D’Alessio in Rome on Sunday 20th May to give their sire Nathaniel a Stakes winning double this weekend.

A four-year-old from Nathaniel’s first brilliant crop, the ultra consistent Chasedown has previously won the Listed Pr. U.N.I.R.E at Napoli in December last year and Premio Roma Vecchia at Rome in November, having previously been placed in three further Stakes races for trainer Alduino Botti and owner/breeders Scuderia Effevi.

Chasedown is out of Whipcla (Whipper), a winning half-sister to Claba Di San Jore, dam of Gr.1 winners Jakkalberry, Crackerjack King and Awelmarduk.

Nathaniel is the sire of 18 Group/Stakes winners/performers from his first two crops, headed up by the five-time Gr.1 and dual Classic winner Enable.  He has also sired four new Group/Stakes winners in 2018, including leading Oaks fancy Perfect Clarity.
