Tamniah gamely wins the Gr.3 Prix Minerve for Nathaniel

11/08/2019

Nathaniel sired a new Group winner today with Tamniah landing the Gr.3 Prix Minerve at Deauville.

The three-year-old filly took the lead over two furlongs out and gamely held on by a short head to Star Terms in a head-to-head battle inside the final furlong.  Trained by Andre Fabre for owner Prince A A Faisal, Tamniah won as a two-year-old and is certainly proving to be very progressive having only made her seasonal appearance at three last month.

Bred by Mitaab bin Abdullah and sold to Ted Voute at the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale for €75,000, she is out of Ezdehar (Rock of Gibraltar), a half-sister to the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Turf and Gr.1 Man O’War Stakes winner and sire Red Rocks (Galileo).

Nathaniel has now sired 18 Stakes winners including the 9-time Gr.1 winner Enable, and Gr.1 winners God Given and Channel

The weekend has proved to be very successful for stallions at Newsells Park Stud with Equiano also siring a Group winner with Gustavus Weston victorious in the Gr.3 Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh yesterday.
