Without Parole’s first crop filly Fiery Lucy gains valuable black-type

31/08/2024

Fiery Lucy, the two-year-old filly from the first-crop of Without Parole, ran a terrific race to finish second in the Gr.3 Newtownanner Irish EBF Stakes at the Curragh today.

The filly was running beyond six furlongs for the first time and quickened up well to challenge the winner, Dreamy, who is well respected by her trainer Aidan O’Brien and may well target the Oaks.

Fiery Lucy is proving to be a tough and consistent filly for her connections, owners Lindsay Laroche/Dunphy Family Syndicate and trainer Gavin Cromwell, having ran five times, winning once and being placed three times, and amassing £76,000 in prize money.

Bred by Whatton Manor Stud, Fiery Lucy is a half-sister to Stakes winner Mukaddamah out of the Dubawi mare Craighall, a half-sister to Gr.2 winner Connecticut and Stakes performers Able Knight and Fleurie Domaine. She sold to Kevin Ross Bloodstock/Gavin Cromwell for 38,000gns at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales last year.

A son of Frankel and winner of the prestigious Gr.1 St James’s Palace Stakes, Without Parole is looking to be an exciting young sire with eight winners from his first-crop already.
